Stephen Smith - Bureau of Information & Education

Stephen Smith was appointed director of the Bureau of Information and Education in December of 2014.

Steve previously served as the Commission's Assistant Counsel for Legislative Affairs, during which time he was responsible for helping to pass several pieces of legislation, including legislation to expand the mentored hunting program, increase the penalties for the unlawful taking of wildlife and authorize the Commission to join the Interstate Wildlife Violators Compact.

Steve joined the agency in 2008, after several years of practicing law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

A native of Berks County, Steve graduated magna cum laude from West Chester University with a degree in Political Science. He received his law degree from the Penn State Dickinson School of law where he was Senior Editor of Penn State International Law Review.
