Ruffed Grouse & American Woodcock Cooperator

Help needed

Several hundred Pennsylvania grouse and/or woodcock hunters help the Pennsylvania Game Commission manage these important game birds by keeping a log of their daily hunting activities. This survey has been conducted since the mid-1960s and helps track the status of these game bird populations as well as hunter success. Hunters record number of flushes and hours by county(s) hunted. If you would like to participate for either game bird, download the Grouse data form (PDF) or the Woodcock data form (PDF).

At the end of the season, mail the forms to Pennsylvania Game Commission, Bureau of Wildlife Management, 2001 Elmerton Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110. You will then be added to the list and receive information through the mail in the future. The preseason mailing includes the From the Coverts (PDF) newsletter, field data cards, data forms, and a postage-paid envelope for sending in your data forms. Or, call (717-787-5529) or write to the Bureau of Wildlife Management to become a cooperator.

Thanks for your help!
